Joshua - Week 2

Pastor Marshall Ochs | August 12, 2018

In Joshua 5-12, Israel began the conquest of Canaan. They conquered Jericho and Ai, formed a covenant with the Gibeonites, gained a massive triumph during a battle against five kings, and expanded their victory into the northern regions of Canaan. As we read about Joshua's leadership and Israel's obedience, we see the parallel with our sanctification. These stories reinforce the importance of cutting away sin in our life, following Jesus with 100% obedience, and walking with integrity.

Joshua - Week 1

Pastor Marshall Ochs | August 5, 2018

In Joshua 1-4, Moses is gone, and God appoints Joshua as the new leader over Israel. Their instructions are to bring judgment to the foreign kings of Canaan and make the promised land their new home. Israel follows Joshua's leadership and the first city to conquer is Jericho. As we study these chapters, we see Jesus as our better Joshua and understand the importance of following His leadership in our sanctification process.

Exodus - Week 5

Pastor Marshall Ochs | July 29, 2018

In Exodus 24-40, God gives Israel blueprints for a place of worship called the tabernacle. It was a tent, filled with furniture and rituals that told the story of God's redemption. Hebrews 8 tells us that everything in the tabernacle was a type and shadow of God's bigger plan of redemption through Jesus. As we study these chapters, we see the story of Jesus and our responsibility to bring the message of reconciliation to the world.

Exodus - Week 4

Pastor Marshall Ochs | July 22, 2018

In Exodus 19-23, Israel arrived at the foot of Mt. Sinai after traveling through the wilderness for 50 days. God commanded the people to prepare themselves for a visitation, and Moses acted as a mediator between the people and God. As we read these chapters, we see how God used Moses to point to Jesus, the mountain to point to Pentecost, and the law to point to grace. We also see how God is using our lives to point a lost world to Jesus.

Exodus - Week 3

Pastor Marshall Ochs | July 15, 2018

In Exodus 13-18, Israel is free from the bondage of Egypt. God leads them through the wilderness and provides food, water, protection, and direction. However, the people struggle to put their hope in God and continually complain about their situation. As we read Exodus this week, we are reminded how quickly we put our hope in this world rather than Jesus.

Exodus - Week 2

Pastor Marshall Ochs | July 8, 2018

In Exodus 7-13, Pharaoh refused to free Israel from slavery. God responded by releasing ten plagues on Egypt, and the final plague was known as the Passover. The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread became yearly celebrations that reminded Israel of God's redemption. As we read Exodus 7-13, we are reminded of how the wrath of God has passed over us because of Jesus, the lamb who was slain.

Exodus - Week 1

Pastor Marshall Ochs | July 1, 2018

In Exodus 1-6, Egypt enslaved the Hebrew people and murdered all newborn baby boys. The Hebrews cried out for deliverance, and God saved a child from the slaughter. The child's name was Moses and God used him to bring freedom to the Hebrews and punishment to Egypt. As we read Exodus 1-6 today, our goal is to see how God used Moses to prepare our hearts for another deliverer named Jesus.

The Kingdom of God is Like - Week 4

Message: The Kingdom of God is Like - Week 4

Teacher: Pastor Marshall Ochs

Date: June 24, 2018

Summary: Jesus used parables to teach people about the Kingdom of God. A parable is a simple story that communicates a big truth, and Jesus told many of these stories to contrast the difference between our world and God’s world. In this message series we study how Jesus explained God’s kingdom using seeds, pearls, nets, and even hidden treasure.

This week we study the parable of the net from Matthew 13:47-50.
