The Story of Jesus

Sin

When God created the earth, He made man and woman in His image. Mankind were the reflection of God on earth. They had freedom to enjoy God and His creation with the one restriction. Man and woman disobeyed God and brought sin into the human race. God's perfect creation was broken because of one act of disobedience.

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned (Romans 5:12)

For thousands of years man ignored God. They embraced their own sin and worshiped things God had created instead of the creator. The world continued to get worse as people took advantage of each other. Mankind robbed, enslaved, and murdered each other with no regard for the value of life. God sent prophets to warn the people that their choices would bring destruction. The people did not listen, and the world grew dark.

Faith

God called one man, Abraham, out of the darkness and promised that He would be the father of a great nation. Abraham was a new beginning for mankind in turning toward God. Through Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, David, and a long list of people who embraced repentance and the need for God to make things right again the time was right.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law (Galatians 4:4)

Because sin was passed from our first parents, Adam and Eve, to us, it is impossible to be reconciled back to God. Following all the rules, being a good person, and hoping our nice deeds outweigh our evil thoughts, gets us nowhere before a perfect God. We need someone to live a perfect life for us and pay the enormous debt that our sin has racked up on our behalf. That someone was Jesus.

Redemption

God sent His son, Jesus, into the world to obey every rule and be the perfect example so that the debt and wrath of God could be satisfied. Jesus came to fix what was broken and bring a people back to God. He came to give every orphan a family and those who are lost a light back home.

Remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:12-13)

New Life

That is why Red Hills Church exists. We are a group of people who have been transformed by Jesus. He found us at our absolute worst and loved us. That single act of love has change us forever, and we want others to know about it. Jesus took our sin and gave us His righteousness. He can do that for you too.

Jesus is a good king and a good friend. He beat death and was raised from the dead. He is calling all of us out of our dead, sinful lives and into a glorious new life. Trusting Him is as simple as believing that Jesus is God and confessing that with your mouth.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

If you would like to talk more about Jesus, we are ready.
