The Gospel of John - Week 15

Pastor Marshall Ochs | April 14, 2019

This week, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 18-19. In these chapters, Jesus is betrayed by Judas, Peter, and the nation of Israel. This betrayal leads to Jesus’ death on the cross and burial in a garden tomb. These chapters remind us that all sin is viewed as a betrayal against God and deserves punishment. However, Jesus took the punishment for our betrayal, and when we place our faith in Him, we are saved and welcomed into God’s family.

Lyell Walker | March 31st, 2019

This week, Lyell Walker teaches from John 13 and 14. In these chapters, Jesus provides us his final message to the disciples in the hours before his arrest and eventual crucifixion. By washing their feet, he provides a final example of what it means to be a servant to those he loves. These chapters show us how we are to love those Jesus came to love, and how we should look to Jesus as our example when it becomes very difficult to love as he loves.

The Gospel of John - Week 12

Pastor Marshall Ochs | March 24, 2019

This week, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 12. In this chapter, Mary worshiped Jesus with expensive oil and Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey to celebrate Passover. The crowds wanted Jesus to free them from the bondage of Rome, but Jesus came with a different agenda. This chapter shows us that God desires to give us the King we need, not necessarily the one we would choose. If we follow Jesus as King and obey His commands, God will reward us in eternity.

The Gospel of John - Week 8

Pastor Marshall Ochs | February 24, 2019

This week, Pastor Marshall reads through John 8 and shows how Jesus addressed sin in the life of an adulterous woman and the religious leaders. Jesus shows them both grace but requires obedience to “sin no more.” As Christians, we often build our convictions on what we think Jesus was trying to say, rather than what Jesus taught. In this chapter, Jesus is clear that sin is a slave master. If you want to be free, you must turn from sin and allow Jesus to set you free.
