This week, Preston Scott shares the importance of having a good apologetic when sharing your faith. He also provides answers to these common critiques of Christianity: why can’t I live the way I want, as long as I don’t harm anyone; how could a loving God send people to hell; and why are all Christians hypocrites?
*We apologize for the poor audio quality in this video. We had technical difficulties this week, and we hope to resolve them soon.
This week, Pastor Marshall continues our message series, Age of Skeptics. In this message, we discuss the critique “God was made up by ancient people to explain the world,“ and we examine the importance of modeling Jesus and building relationship to articulate the gospel.
This week, Pastor Marshall starts a new message series about evangelism, and it is designed to help Christians answer tough questions about their faith. This message helps Christians navigate common questions and critiques from people with no religious background, people who have been hurt by the church, and people who are skeptical about church.
This week, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 21. In this chapter, Jesus appeared to the disciples while they were fishing, shared a meal with them, and talked with the disciple Peter. Jesus reminded Peter to follow Him, and not be distracted by anything else. This reminder is for our hearts as well. It is easy to take our eyes off Jesus and be overwhelmed with things that don’t matter or build a theology around things Jesus did not say. John 21 reminds us that we have everything we need to live godly lives, and we must follow Jesus.
It’s Resurrection Day! Today is the day Jesus rose from the dead and conquered the grave! In this message, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 20 and contrasts the different reactions of Mary, the disciple’s, and Thomas. Each person had a different response to the news that Jesus was no longer in the grave, but Jesus was consistent in his love toward them. Jesus is still faithful in His love for us, and His desire is for all to examine the evidence of the resurrection, repent of our sin, and serve Him!
This week, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 18-19. In these chapters, Jesus is betrayed by Judas, Peter, and the nation of Israel. This betrayal leads to Jesus’ death on the cross and burial in a garden tomb. These chapters remind us that all sin is viewed as a betrayal against God and deserves punishment. However, Jesus took the punishment for our betrayal, and when we place our faith in Him, we are saved and welcomed into God’s family.
This week, Pastor Marshall teaches from John 15-17. In these chapters, Jesus speaks to His disciples during their last Passover meal together. He reminds them to abide in Him like a branch on a vine, to persevere in the coming persecution, and to walk in unity. These were the final words that Jesus gave His disciples before He was arrested and murdered, but they have significant application for us today.
